Content Creation Manager, Full-Time

 

Cricut sells desktop cutting machines to provide a way for designers and crafters to create customized crafts and gear. The Cricut Design Space Library provides a variety of project templates, images, and font options to be used to create these projects. It is my responsibility to ensure the correct content is available for our end users. I oversee everything from deriving data insights on content gaps to providing art direction and design briefs, as well as managing internal teams and artist contractor relationships.

Responsibilities:
 

Strategy

• Have an in-depth awareness and understanding of current and forecasted design trends

• Derive actionable insights from analyzing user data in DOMO

• Keep track of monthly data insights and provide to greater team on an ongoing basis

• Align content strategy and art requests with overarching company goals

Leadership

• Create and present content strategy for artists and cross-functional teams

• Create specific project design briefs for internal and contracted artists

• Weigh in on company strategy discussions with department knowledge and expertise

People Management

• Support, inspire and motivate team members career goals, with an emphasis on learning

• Cultivate trust and a win-win attitude among team and contractors

• Provide bi-annual Performance Reviews and weekly 1-on-1 meetings with team members

• Provide growth opportunities for team members

• Keep crafting materials and tools stocked for the team's project needs

• Liaison for art contractor relationships and needs, including contract and PO

Project Management

• Balance and delegate multiple high priority projects between internal and contracted artists

• Plan and log past, current and upcoming projects in project management software

• Organize, and prepare any delivered artwork, to be handed off to the production art team

• Brainstorm and implement more efficient and effective processes to improve workflow

Communication

• Able to adjust communication style based on audience. Including team members, contractors, executives regarding projects, timeline and deliverables

• Keep an open channel of communication with artists and cross functional teams

• Provide feedback and insights for new software, product, and material testing 

Design

• Make necessary artistic corrections on delivered artwork in order to meet current project needs and/or deadlines, supplement with original artwork when needed

Illustration Team Manager, Full-Time

• Ensure constant cross functional communication regarding projects, timeline and deliverables

• Brainstorm and implement more efficient and effective processes to improve current workflow

• Create and manage incoming art requests from various cross-functional teams

Communication

• Keep an open channel of communication with illustrators and cross-functional teams

• Partner with software to provide feedback and art for new software features

• Partner with UX for member facing Design Space projects and art decisions

• Participate and give feedback in alpha/beta product and hardware testing

Design

• Create original artwork when needed

• Shoot final photo and step-out photos of 3D paper projects

Responsibilities: 
 

Project Management (Self)

• Responsible for own workflow on multiple, current, and upcoming projects

• Stay flexible within an ever-changing and rigorous timetable

• Update spreadsheets and log new artwork

Communication

Design

• Edit existing licensed artwork from style guides to meet specs for cutting machines

• Create original artwork to be used with materials for cutting machines such as; 3D paper templates, card templates, decals and letter sets

• Create original artwork and licensed artwork for physical products such as; paper patterns and embossing folders

• Adjust art style based on current trends

• Give and receive artistic feedback

• Assist with studio set design when needed
